No clay or kiln and feel the need to work 3D so dragged cardboard and paper from the recycle bin and started to create. Somewhat slower to work with than clay although no waiting for firing and all I needed to purchase was some wallpaper paste and tape. Took a little while to work out the template, although once that was done and taped together it was time to get messy. Great fun and very meditative so put on some tunes and most of the afternoon had gone before I realised I am definitely looking forward to making more.
Ever so slowly making a blanket for a friend’s baby. It was to be finished when he was born! However, with Christmas and summer fast approaching it was pushed to the side. Needing to get back onto finishing it as he will be in a cot soon enough and the cooler weather here before we know it, although today was a very hot one a great day for the beach.
Deciding to get serious on plastic and starting small with eradicating single use plastic from daily life. Although it sounds well intentioned and noble if a bit pretensious it is far more difficult than I had realised. I have had to re-evaluate how to shop after noticing that everything is wrapped in plastic from fruit to toilet paper. Shopping will now take on a new dimension; it will require full focus and determination. I will post over the coming weeks on how I am going with alternatives to single use plastic.
